No, not directly. CSRD applies to large companies operating in the EU. However, Chinese suppliers must cooperate with EU importers by providing supply chain data (material composition, energy consumption, packaging information), otherwise it may affect customers' compliance capabilities.
Mainly products containing wood or bamboo components, such as real wood venetian blinds, faux wood venetian blinds (containing wood powder), and bamboo venetian blinds. Pure PVC/polyester roller blinds, zebra blinds, and honeycomb shades are generally not directly affected by EUDR, but auxiliary components must be checked for wood content.
PVC foam coating is prone to blocking (coating layers sticking together) or cracking (coating becoming brittle and peeling) after long-term storage. This is a well-known pain point of the classic PVC foam process. The severity varies by supplier formulation and storage conditions. It is recommended to avoid long-term storage of PVC foam coating products, or choose more storage-resistant alternatives such as acrylic coating.
Recommended documents include: material composition list (BOM), production energy consumption data, packaging material specifications, wood/bamboo source certificates (FSC/PEFC certification, logging permits, geolocation), recycled material content certificates, and supplier code of conduct. These documents can significantly improve response efficiency to EU customers.
For bedrooms where total darkness matters, blackout roller blinds or blackout honeycomb shades are the top choices. Zebra blinds offer adjustable light control but cannot achieve full darkness. Honeycomb shades add the best thermal insulation, which helps reduce energy costs in both winter and summer.
